Let’s take a break from the package talk to think of some of the fun that we’ll need to prepare for.
First: ladies, our dresses! I’ve been browsing websites looking for a lovely gown, then the Grammy’s came around and my ideal looks suddenly seem so lame. But, since I don’t have the luxury of Stella McCartney personally designing my dress, I’ll go for some other options.
Some of the best stores I’ve come across for a reasonably priced, pretty dress are:
- Lulu’s (thanks for the suggestion from my coach, Carly)
- Rent the Runway (shout out to Katie for this one)
- Lord & Taylor
Other ideas I’ve heard from former bachelorettes are borrowing from past bachelorettes (obvi!), or past bridesmaid’s dresses (if they weren’t too hideous).
Next, what kind of music do we want playing when we walk the Red Carpet, I mean, stage? Thinking of this reminded me of the Detroit Tiger’s walk up songs – they’re always so intense, and really suite each player so well. So I was thinking, I’m not going for the intimidating, “I’m going to slam this ball out of the park” look, but an upbeat sound that will get people excited. I want the song to evoke happiness and fun, and also reflect a little bit of myself. I think it will be fun to hear what songs each Bach selects for themselves.
I feel like I may get some stage fright when I walk out, so I don’t know about any special moves or presentations. I think I’ll just go with the “Smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave.” *Penguins from Madagascar*
Speaking of stage fright, some of us will be so lucky to be on the local tv and/or radio shows, something that I think is such a great idea, and also shows how legit we are – that local tv and radio are willing to give FFCF air time to promote our event.
Time is moving quickly – just over a month until the big day. We’ve got a lot of work to do, but I know it will all be worth it.
